The Miserable Mill is the fourth book in A Series of Unfortunate Events by Lemony Snicket (Daniel Handler). In this installment, the Baudelaire orphans—Violet, Klaus, and Sunny—are sent to work at a dreary lumbermill owned by the mysterious and untrustworthy Sir. Their new guardian, the stern and silent Mr. Poe, leaves them with little hope of escaping their grim fate.
At the mill, the orphans soon discover that something is terribly wrong. The factory is filled with dangers, including hypnotism, cruel machinery, and, of course, the ever-present threat of Count Olaf, who is once again plotting to steal their family fortune. With their wits and resourcefulness, the Baudelaires must work together to outsmart Olaf and survive the grim horrors of the mill.
The Miserable Mill continues the Baudelaire’s tragic, yet darkly humorous journey, filled with suspense, intrigue, and clever twists. Fans of the series will be captivated by the Baudelaires’ relentless efforts to thwart Count Olaf’s evil plans and solve the mystery of their family’s tragic past.
